Stanton Carpet announces the decision of Co-founder and Vice President of Sales for Antrim, Fran O’Neill to retire effective January 9, 2009. O’Neill along with Dan McGovern founded Antrim Carpets in 1997.
When Stanton Carpet acquired Antrim Carpets in November 2007, O’Neill was an instrumental part of transitioning the sales staff and continued to grow business across the country and in Canada. Upon announcing his retirement, O’Neill said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my almost forty years in the flooring industry, and I am very grateful for the many terrific friends that I have made over the years. I now look forward to a new phase of my life.”
Jonathan Cohen, COO of Stanton Carpet, said, “We sincerely appreciate all Fran has accomplished for our company in this short time period but can also fully appreciate and respect his decision to retire and spend more time with his family.” Fran O’Neill has had a long and successful career in the flooring industry and Stanton Carpet and Antrim Carpets USA wish him all the best in his retirement.
O’Neill got his start in 1971 when he became a salesman for carpeting manufacturer Beattie Carpet. In 1979 he went to work for Karastan and rose to the position of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for their residential division. He left Karastan in 1988 to join Congoleum as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing before starting Antrim with McGovern in 1997.
